Site: DC’s Halloween Month

The Fanzine

31.10.09

Not sure who likes Halloween more, would be blood brothers Dennis Cooper or Derek McCormack? And in case you thought we were complete idiot space cadets, we do have a review of McCormack’s fresh The Show That Smells (now out on the American imprint Akashic) in the works; the catch is we wanted it ready for Halloween, but what the heck – Halloween should be an all year concept, so look for it next month, just somewheres past Samhain. And it’s hard to recommend a site in general or rather to know just when to do it, but if Halloween is not the time for Mr. Cooper, then what is?  Good stuff from him and his cadre of collaborator fans, friends, and frequenters to the site.  Note: there are no holds barred here on his hugely sucessful blog (which is a model for future bloggers – be generous and open, um…like Jesus…wink), so if you never saw “a grown man naked”, as Captain Oveur of Airplane once queried, or were bothered by him, then stay away. Otherwise, girls, hit DC’s halloween hotspot now, right now. Check the whole damn month for spooky houses, creative costumes and a vast mix of scary, camp and as always, art.
