Music: Haunting The Chapel: Brandon Stosuy’s Metal Column

Days ago, October 30th, readers of Brandon Stosuy’s (a fanzine contributor among a zillion other things) metal column Show No Mercy, which ran on Pitchfork for years, got a pre-Halloween treat, a resurrection of the column at Brandon’s new online home, Stereogum. Only catch is Pitchfork claimed to own the name “Show No Mercy” even though it originally came from a Slayer Album (yes still talking Slayer here). So what’s different on the new site? Well for one, since Stosuy is one of only three contributors to the entire (yet amazingly thorough) site, he has editorial control, which means more multimedia, more insight on the interviews, oh and a new name too, from another Slayer album, one that also adorned a Banks Violette sculpture – (maybe he’ll threaten to sue now too ha…j/k).  Read the debut of Haunting the Chapel and follow the blog each month. Stosuy’s evolved into America’s preeminant scholar, toastmaster, what-have-you of metal. Yep. Oh and that’s Vetis Monarch in the pic btw, an interviewee.
