Crawling on you in your sleep, I squeeze
insects between my fingers and our sheets.
Summer I’m afraid enough to kill.
I take out the garbage, check your temperature,
rearrange the furniture, knead my knuckles
against your spine. I will write you letters,
fuck up the postage, show strange women
your photographs in different houses.
