Coinciding with the art opening of Duncan Shirah’s Tools, and hosted by the Goat Farm (Atlanta), is Vouched Atlanta’s first birthday party. Vouched, the brainchild of Christopher Newgent and overseen in Atlanta by Laura Straub, promotes amazing small press literature. With: (brief) readings by Blake Butler, Jamie Iredell, Jessie Matheson, Jayne O’Connor, Nicholas Tecosky, Randy Osborne, Myke Johns, Laura Carter, Davy Minor, Gina Myers, Amy McDaniel (among others); the Good Food Truck; and a kickass raffle (who needs a new tattoo?). Proceeds from the party benefit WINK and the Wren’s Nest Publishing Co, two local organizations that connect youth with literature.
